Our Special Team Of Role Models (STORM) is our Leadership Team. This is a hand-picked group of students who are being trained to be tomorrow's Leaders, using the discipline learned in our Martial Arts classes to expand upon their roles in taking the initiatve, character development, socialization, and team building.

The STORM class meets once per week and each class is a different experience from the last. Students have found themselves on the Woodstock Square, shaking hands and demonstrating their board breaking prowess. They've found themselves in front of video cameras, creating testomonial videos. They've been assigned articles to write. They are responsible for learning lesson plans and teaching techniques. They are involved in planning Demonstrations and Special Events.

Other schools offer leadership programs, but too often these classes merely teach "How to Teach Martial Arts" - and Leadership demands a lot more than merely being able to teach a front kick! Every one of our students is assigned a class to assist in, but that's merely the beginning of their training.

The best way to find out more about this program is to talk to our future leaders. They'll be glad to shake your hand, tell you their name, look you in the eye and answer any questions you may have. We create leaders, not followers and we're very serious about it!

Our S.T.O.R.M. Classes Create Leaders!

The Woodstock Mixed Martial Arts Leadership Team is a special program for students 12 years old and up who are interested in learning the skills needed to become comfortable in a position of leadership. Speaking in public, writing clearly, learning to shake hands and make conversations with people are all part of the skills that we teach.

The S.T.O.R.M. program (Special Team Of Role Models) also gives students the opportunity to assist in teaching our classes. Knowing Martial Arts techniques inside and out is the first step in learning to explain them to others and the S.T.O.R.M. students are among the best in our school. Standing in front of a group of students and explaining the details of a technique in a clear and readily understandable manner is not the easy job that they make it appear to be: there's a LOT of time and effort spent behind the scenes, working on voice projection, stage presence, motion - and much much more.

S.T.O.R.M. students are easily recognizable by their distinctive Red and White uniforms. Although they are at least Year 2 students, you'll often spot them in our Year 1 classes helping out during class, demonstrating techniques and giving individual aid to those that need it.
